Logros y desaf\u00edos de una regi\u00f3n en efervescencia<\/p>\n

\u00c1frica es, hoy, el continente m\u00e1s joven del mundo. Si se respira el ambiente de las ciudades de un \u00c1frica inmersa en un proceso de r\u00e1pida urbanizaci\u00f3n o se escuchan las conversaciones en las apacibles calles de aldeas y pueblos, se adquiere una certeza: los j\u00f3venes africanos tienen altas expectativas y los pol\u00edticos empiezan a preocuparse por c\u00f3mo responder a sus demandas. En este contexto, en el que la regi\u00f3n se enfrenta a m\u00faltiples desaf\u00edos, como las pandemias, el cambio clim\u00e1tico, la pobreza o los conflictos, nos decidimos a situar una l\u00ednea que rodee a los seis estados que conforman el Sahel Occidental y analizar los desaf\u00edos y los logros que han experimentado de cara a la consecuci\u00f3n de la Agenda 2030 en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. Nuestra conclusi\u00f3n: aunque queda mucho trabajo para poder alcanzar los Objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible, tambi\u00e9n se puede presumir de algunos logros y avances. Incluso en un territorio tan olvidado, complejo y con el viento en contra como el Sahel. Un territorio que est\u00e1 a la vera de Canarias, parte de su vecindario inmediato, y cuya prosperidad y bienestar tienen que redundar, necesariamente, en la prosperidad y bienestar de quienes lo rodean. Dagauh Komenan es un historiador marfile\u00f1o especializado en Relaciones Internacionales, que actualmente completa su doctorado en la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). Es coordinador, editor, traductor y autor de dos cap\u00edtulos del libro colectivo Guerra y paz en \u00c1frica, publicado por Casa \u00c1frica y La Catarata en 2020.
